Great explanation. When I was in NY I was in the studio with Dennis and he told me that the only tracks from that album that were actually live was the drums and percussino. Everything else got overdubbed in the studio. He said he has a recording of an actual live show from that tour and that he thinks it sounds better than what they ended up with in the studio - interesting.
Best,
Michael

Very good and focused. I enjoyed this one a good deal.

Great look in the kitchen of a fantastic cook!

Great lessons Joe! I'm really digging the stepped hi-hat ideas as well as the observations and ideas around isolating what the left hand is doing during fills and grooves. Since the weaker left hand is more likely to be playing on the harder-to-place e's and ah's, they really need that special attention. I'm NOT a drum corps guy but lately, with the help of Jeff Queens book/DVD " The Next Level", I've been doing break downs and isolations of each hand with all the rudiments. You have brought these isolation concepts to the drum set for me, thank you Joe! These isolations have really made a big difference in how I sound and given me greater ease in playing. Your lessons are very refreshing and motiving...keep 'em coming!!! Gotta go woodshed now!

Sincerely
Doug Brown

This lesson goes over the cool parts of the Josie solo. I love Dennis Chambers any way so cheers.

i was hoping to hear more breakdowns of some other "licks", but your method for figuring out the most practical and comfortable way works well...those off 16th notes are a pain!!!...merci!
